30-minute cinematic stories about the people, companies and regions that define Italian excellence around the world. From great names like Gualtiero Marchesi to the builders behind the scenes, like "the Ferrari of beekeeping".

The project
Beyond branding, towards legacy.
The Great Italian is an auteur documentary series produced by Adrama and directed by Maurizio Gigola. Each 30-minute episode tells a story of Italian excellence: a family business, a craft, a region.
The series grew out of the documentary on Gualtiero Marchesi, which premiered in Cannes, was broadcast on Sky, Rai, Prime Video and Hulu and screened in more than 70 cinemas. The first episode, Giuseppe Lega · Il Ronzio del Mondo, premiered in Faenza in September 2026 to a deeply moved audience.
It proves a simple idea: a company's story, told like a film, stops being communication and becomes the heritage of a whole community.
